Great range of beer and its a nice place to watch american sports, particularly NFL & NBA. The lunch specials are my favourite, I basically always choose the $13 rump with pepper sauce, its great honest food and solid value. Pretty good wing choices too!
Love coming here on NBA games so we can have lunch with the games on. Friday is super busy here, you guys love a beer, don’t you. Always bring us back with their $13 steak/ chicken schnitzel/ fish. Is so worth it. Oh and never get to try their burger…cause we always go for the steak.
I came here on a Friday for lunch with a few colleagues who were craving some pub style food. Obviously it was not going to be gourmet, but it was actually quite enjoyable, I was pleasantly surprised. The meals came out fairly quickly and they were piping hot which is a good sign. I got two sliders (beef brisket and Southern fried chicken) with fries and thought, although I have had better, it was actually pretty good but personally I don’t think it was worth $15.50, I’d say $12-$13 max. It’s a bit dark and dingy inside but that was to be expected for a pub. It’s a good place to go for a Friday lunch when you’ve thrown your ‘I’m going to be healthy this week’ attitude out the window and just want fried food and a beer because you’re in weekend mode already.
Insanely good beer selection that changes all the time so always good to come back and see what’s going on! Love coming for the Live Jazz Friday nights and munching down on some beer and wings (best I can find so far).
All signs pointed to this being my kind of place. Craft beer, smoked meats and more craft beer. The beer selection was great, although I struggled to find anything that tickled my fancy below 7% abv on the night. But it was the food that really let them down. Never one to pass up something called a meat platter, I went all in. The chicken wings were quite nice, ribs were ok, but the smoked steak was one of the toughest pieces of meat I have had in my life, and devoid of any smoky flavour. Not a good idea to cook a lean piece of meat like this low and slow. Looked a shocking mess all squeezed onto the board like that too. Nice place for a beer, but perhaps think twice about the food. foodetcaust.com
Good selection of craft beers (the x4 beer green beacon brewery buckets for $20 are a winner when with mates). Buffalo wings were excellent and others dining saying they enjoyed their food. Very good value as well – quite cheap. Great for easy american styled pub food when out for a few crafty beers with mates – but maybe not for fancy dining
The art to smoking is low and slow. The chefs need to turn the oven down, the brisket, ribs and burnt ends where all way to dry. This may be the Brisbane way but it’s not the right way. The saving grace for the dinner was the impeccable service.
