Goodbye colleagues, hello farewell lunch. Our 25 person crew was one of a few large Friday bookings here. Thats obviously challenging for any venue, but especially when this place seems to have downsized. That said, overworked staff tried valiantly & made the most of it with accomodating good humour.Food was inevitably hit & miss. The modern American take on a traditional pub menu seemed simple enough but proved controversial. Nachos caused the most debate. Opinions were divided on the deconstructed presentation, displacing chips from their rightful topping. Cmon why segregate, cant we all just get along? Semantics aside there was a metric shitton of fondue-like mozzarella which Im sure would have set rock hard if not stirred…and now hello red hot gooey mess. Mine was the smoked chicken version & I didnt enjoy the BBQ sauce flavour overload. To be honest there was no discernible smoke on the chicken either. Overall it was okay. Burgers were reportedly not in the upper echelons but adequate. The blackened chicken was accused of being a sauceless dry fail.Left feeling indifferent about this particular experience but potentially still willing to return based on previous visits & under different circumstances. Really hope the street-facing window seats return – always a great way to make the most of the great craft beers on a quiet weekend.
