Affordable price and nice atmosphere for a good pub hang with friends for some beer and alcohols. We had pizza and sweet potato chips. The foods are pretty average. Quick service but the cocktail was way over-priced I got one for 16 when all the average cost would be 10 for cocktail. They have specials on tue ($5 pizza) ,wed (trivia & Dj) , thurs( DJ) and sunday (live music) . Well, we went there tonight, the trivia started at 7.30pm while there was no appearance of DJ or whatsoever at 9.30pm while it said DJ will start at 9.30pm.
Poor quality breakfast. I had the big breakfast. The hash brown came out 5 mins after i had been served my breakfast. Also i could not cut the fried eggs. They were plastic. Awful breakfast.
Really top notch nosh – a yummy home made burger with quality ingredients and a delicious side salad. You can get classical pub fare or an array of fancier dishes – it was yum
Good place for a beer, unfortunately not for the food. You have to be able to get basic chips right… Soggy and oily.
Excellent pub food in a friendly atmosphere. We’ve been here four times in the last month and loved it every time. Our male half, who loves a good pub steak, was impressed with both the steak and the mushroom sauce, especially given the reasonable price. We also had eggs benedict twice (very good on both occasions, with excellent hollandaise sauce and perfectly-cooked bacon) and an omelette which looks like a pizza and was very tasty. Our overall impression, given the quality of food and speed of service, is that they have a very competent kitchen team. We also found the front-of-house staff to be friendly and helpful. We’ll be back next time we’re in Brisbane.
So much for this being a ‘gastropub’…. Service was nice enough, ok atmosphere for a Thursday, decent range of beers, and menu is on the cheaper side, but wouldn’t go back because the food was simply awful – I know they say you get what you pay for, but there’s much better ‘cheap eats’ in brisbane. Between our table of four we had overcooked and horribly dry chicken parmi and salmon dishes, and two very chewy rump unevenly cooked steaks. Portion sizes were small and the sides were bland steamed vegies (that looked like they’d come straight out of the freezer section) with greasy soggy chips. The food came out very quickly, and I don’t know if we just caught the kitchen on a bad night, but I doubt it. Really disappointed given the consistently good ratings this place had online.
Best food in Brisbane the chefs should have their own restaurant, fine dining at a low cost in my opinion, used to be tin Billy’s it should have stayed that way. It’s a Pity the owners &management changed it so much & the dj is gone they have ruined the atmosphere/ and chased the regulars away. Sundays it used to be the best pub in Brisbane now it’s a quiet restaurant.Great chefs tho 🙂
