Tried the a jumbo Thai over the top of the old Embassy Hotel in the CBD for lunch yesterday, great service and very pleasant surrounds made this enjoyable I had the curried beef cheeks and it was a melt in your mouth delight, food was little on the expensive side otherwise would have given it a five , but definitely worth a visit if you like thai

This restaurant is in the Embassy Hotel. Take the flight of stairs up and you’ll be welcomed into a lovely dining space. There is all type of seating to suite whether you get a seat at the bench table looking out onto the other buildings, a regular table or the ones with cushions and pillows like we had. The service is very friendly and accommodating. We came as a group for dinner. Decided to share the dishes as to not have fomo. Started off with Duck Spring Rolls and Satay Chicken Skewers. Presented beautifully, these were the perfect starters. The piping hot and crunchy spring rolls were filled with delicious duck, cabbage, and sweetcorn. The chicken skewers came with a smooth and tasty peanut sauce. Calamari was tasty but a tad chewy the group had declared. Onto the mains we had Green Curry With Beef Cheeks, Massaman Lamb Shank Curry, and Jumbo Pad Thai. The curries were flavour bombs and the meats in both of them were melt in the mouth. Couldn’t get enough of curry to go with the rice we got. The pad thai was well seasoned and went down a treat. Lots of chicken and plump prawns adorned this dish. We very much enjoyed the mains and wolfed it down quite quickly. Being the sweet tooth of the group I indulged in the Banana Fritters. They were filled with banana, rice flakes, and coconut. Not your traditional fritter but more a spring roll style, it was very tasty. Served with a scoop of coconut ice cream, it was a lovely way to end the meal.
