Cheap and fast! Good quality and generous size, served with salad. The best choice available for a quick lunch for people who work in the city.
Had the katsu ebi curry. The prawns were crispy and not dry at all inside! So delicious. The salad is also a nice addition, not often found with such curries.
Awesome food with very good price. I come to this place probably 4 times a week to have lunch. I wish they will start a loyalty card!
Amazing curry. Mr curry is so amazing, fresh and affordable! A great place for lunch.
Great lunch option. Tried the spicy chicken curry for lunch and it was lovely. The curry sauce was not too overwhelming and went well with the perfectly cooked rice. The spicy chicken itself isn’t all that spicy, so I would recommend adding the spice powder for those who love their spice! Very affordable lunch option.
Had lunch at the newly Toowong Village Mr Curry. Katsu Chicken Curry tasted good and was cheap given the portion size. Cheap drinks too.But….. The front of house staff need to cheer up, put a smile on their faces, say please and thank you and make eye contact. Compare this to Fantasia across the food court who are almost too polite and helpful :)Also, no napkins only tissues and 1980s stirofoam containers – hopefully you can find something more environmentally friendly to put your meals in. Finally, cash only – to me there is no excuse for cash only anymore. EFTPOS is quick and everyone has it, I don’t often carry cash and I I didn’t have cash in my wallet I would have gone elsewhere. As I said, food is good and price is right…. Fine tune those couple of other things and you will do well in that food court .
Mr. Curry – Brisbane CBD. This is as simple and straightforward as it can get. Finding the place is the most complex aspect to it. Within the labyrinth that is the post office square, a few turns are needed to be taken to find it standing virtually on its own within the vicinity of the food court. Everything about the place is well planned enough to get the appearance of bare-boned across. Even the bin looks like it was bought, low-key. It is obviously not a well-kept secret, as there is a long line of people out the door (although, the shop is not that big regardless) especially during the lunch break. In spite of a long line, it could not be further from being the opposite of what it would normally entail. With several people co-cooperatively working in a line, synergy is in tow and the meals are done in what is mere minutes. Each meal comes served in a takeaway container, and the cutlery and sauce are both down the end to finish off. The menu is really simple. There are no entrees or sides here, just Japanese-style curry. It comes with a side of rice, a salad with with a mayonnaise-based dressing and pickled cabbage. All that needs to be done is order the meat you want (or the vegetarian option, yasai), have the cash in hand and Bob’s your uncle. I went with the spicy chicken. To make it more worth the while, portions are generous and this is all for pocket money’s worth (before noon, it is even cheaper albeit only one option counts). It is a tasty, and well-proportioned meal that actually seems somewhat healthy. Lots of places serving a similar item would suffer in quality with the wait of the crumbed meats in the bain maries; a long and constant line up guarantees that the meats are fresh, crispy and hot when served. It is rare to see such a successful business with a stark model, but this is one place that has perfected it. For the money that it costs, it is well-worth it and some of the best all around that will be found in quite a reasonable radius.
