Very friendly staff and service. Interesting cocktail list with some novel cocktails. Scanner crab and steak tartare entrees were both very tasty with good flavours and nice presentation. Whole Marron was cooked perfectly as was barramundi with crispy skin and tender flesh. Fries were extra crunchy outside but soft inside. Overall food was very good and nice view of the story bridge too.
I dined here on a Monday night solo. I was seated outside with a view of the story bridge. I received water and menus straight away. I ordered the barramundi collars, raw beef and honey parfait for dessert. The stand out dish was definitely the dessert. I loved the balance of flavours and textures and celebrating honey! The raw beef was something a bit different to what i’m used to but i quite enjoyed the flavour and the addition of kale dust. I enjoyed all three dishes however my least favourite was the barramundi. I liked the concept and the accompanying burnt butter sauce but the fish was full of bones which let it down. Not sure if there was any way to avoid that with such a small piece of fish but it made it fiddly to eat. To wash it all down, i had a fifty shades of glitter cocktail which was refreshing and delicious. Overall, i had a lovely time at Pony and the staff were all very friendly. Special shout out to Daniel for being my waiter for the evening. Great job.
