A quick post-work tipple with colleagues and we had a hankering for espresso martinis. It had been years since my last visit to The Laneway but I remembered that the cocktails were pretty good so off we went.Despite the enticing smell of freshly picked mint permeating the bar, I stuck to my guns and ordered the Popcorn Espresso cocktail. Pure happiness! The Monin Popcorn is the absolute star of this drink and complements the espresso perfectly. Loved it!I love that The Laneway is tucked away down a side street. It’s absolutely worth the hunt, both for the experience and the classic films projected onto the brick wall opposite the bar. We’ll definitely be back to try out the bar snacks menu and some more of the cocktails soon.
What a lovely place. I love the upstairs bar and the silent movies projected out the window in the wall. This place is a little difficult to find but worth the hunt. Staff are very friendly.
Fantastic cocktail making class!!. I organised a cocktail making class for my birthday at The Laneway and my friends and I had such an amazing time! The bartender who ran our class was extremely friendly and knowledgable about all the cocktails we got to make. It was a very interactive experience with lots of laughs. I would definitely recommend it for any birthday parties or hen’s nights.
Nice area. One of the more unique / fancy looking places I’ve been to. It looks very artsy/retro. It’s just a shame that the food portions are incredibly small, given that you pay a lot. I ordered the cheese board which only had like three pieces of cheese.
The food wad horrible, but a great place for drinks.
Over priced and underwhelming though good service and beer range
If you are after service in the space of your 1 hour lunch break- don’t come here. 1 hour for a simple burger & chips was unacceptable. Whilst food was good it simply isn’t worth the hype, money or your time.
