When I stepped out of the Barcadia Kitchen & Bar on last Saturday, my memory recalled the episode that I had a cup of coffee at this espresso caf. Prior to this review, I read the one done by Meatball & Beef Cheeks who mentioned the owner was a lady when he visited this espresso last year. He might be right that the management had been changed because I was served by a gentleman. He was very serious on making his coffee and looked like he is always proud of the coffee that he made. Although he did not smile,I think foodie might not worry about the smiling face as long as the coffee was good. This espresso is one of the outstanding case. Cheers!
My hubby says they’ve got the best coffee in the street. I don’t drink coffee myself but absolutely love their hot chocolate. Keep it up, guys!
Lady Meatball was in need of an Iced Latte, so I popped into Augustus Espresso while she and Mini Meatball continued ahead.I caught them just as they were starting to close down, but the manager, Samantha, couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive.I ordered a large Iced Latte and while she was preparing the coffee Samantha advised me that syrup shots are complimentary when you order a large. I declined – Lady Meatball is a purist – but the offer was still appreciated.I also noted that Babyccinos are free and commented on how rare that was these days, where most places charge $1.50-3.00. She replied that this was to help parents to enjoy their experience, knowing that their little one is happy. The coffee was great – 4 – and the service was refreshingly customer-centric – 5.You are doing a great job, Samantha…keep it up!
Great service! Reasonable prices. Small selection enough to grab something quickly and go! Very handy location in the centre of Oxford St. Definitely worth checking out. Shannon
