Unfortunately our dinner experience here was a let down. We waited 15 minutes before we had to ASK for menus, then another 15 before they came over to take our order. The staff had very little knowledge of the menu (one of our group was vegan and needed some extra information). We had three different waiters take over taking our order (so some of us had to repeat our order three times) and the vegan meal that came out (pizza) was literally just tomato sauce on dough. The meals also took – no joke – 50 minutes to come out, and there were only five of us with simple pizza, pasta and fries orders. For what we paid, it was not worth it. These guys operate as if theyre doing us a favour by giving us the time of day! Safe to say I wont be returning.
I have walked passed this cafe a few times in the last couple of weeks, so when a friend suggested that we have breakfast there this morning I was happy to oblige. The location of the cafe is excellent, but the food service is what let them down. We started with coffees & there was no sugar on the table, so when I couldn’t get the attention of a waiter I had to go on a mission to find some. I ordered eggs on sourdough & when they arrived I noticed that there was no butter on my toast & no salt & pepper on the table. I walked up to the counter & asked for some butter which never arrived & went on another mission to find some salt & pepper. I would seriously rethink going back there.
We came across this venue by chance at lunch time today and decided to give it a try. It has a great location and we really like the fit out and decor. We were greeted by the person who seemed to be the manager in a fairly cool and unwelcoming manner and he never spoke to us again for the next two hours even though there were only around 4 tables of diners during that period. The waiter was a young English guy who repeatedly called me mateWe ordered two pasta dishes one of which we were later told wasnt available today and I ordered an Italian beer that I was also later told wasnt available. The pasta dishes were ok but not Wow! Presentation was good . The location will probably ensure that this place always has diners but for me its another restaurant that has the makings of being something really special but it just delivers average.
Valentines Day and we were positioned next to the toilet door entrance with our bench table not even set, despite booking with a deposit. We asked if we could be positioned to a spot more in the main part of the restaurant but was told it was booked out. Yet there were a significant number of vacant tables. Then we sat for 10 mins waiting to be asked for drinks but nobody attended to us. We then cancelled our booking and requested to obtain our deposit bank. Surprise surprise… a table suddenly became available in the main part of the restaurant. We obviously declined and retrieved our deposit! Absolutely disappointed with il Molo…shame on you. You should be seasoned at providing great experiences by now.
We had a great experience with good food, wine and a beautiful view over the river. Even when we arrived way later than normal dinner time staff was very welcoming and accommodating and went above and beyond to provide exceptional service.
The most horrible service!We booked a table at 7.30 – we got seated an hour and a half later. The waitress seemed to be annoyed for some reason, as she had other guests coming for that same spot (the one we were waiting for more than an hour for).In short very limited attention and care for their customers!
What can I say. A stunning location on the waterfront with beautiful Italian food. I had the Pesce Del Giorno and it was fresh and delicious, certainly coming back now I’ve found this great spot.
