Its been some time since I dined in Bulimba, several kilometres from the CBD. Tonight we are walking into Joah, a new Korean/Japanese restaurant. Greeted by Owner/Chef James and after a short discussion we order our meal from the Menu. * Large Sashimi ($25) is nicely presented with 15 slices of Salmon and 5 slices of Tuna. The Sashimi is very fresh. *Aburi Salmon and Salmon Hosomaki ($15) looks so appetising and is delicious. *Soft Shell Crab Salad ($12) is freshly prepared. The Salad is so refreshing, a perfect accompaniment for the Korean Fried Chicken.*Agedashi Tofu ($8) is served piping hot. The soy based broth is a tad salty but still very nice. *Korean Fried Chicken (half serve $15) comes with two flavours, Sweet Spicy and Soy Garlic. The tender juicy chicken is the table favourite. *LA Galbi is a sample prepared by Chef James for us to try. These laterally cut Beef short ribs are perfectly marinated, tender and very tasty. We enjoy our dinner here and rate the dishes 4-4.5! The Korean Fried Chicken is very good and I recommend this dish. Thank you to James our gracious host for your hospitality. We hope to visit you in the New Year! With… Phuong Tran

I have been this place last week with my partner. We both enjoyed well. I had a okonomiyaki and bibimbap. My partner had la galbi rib. Galbi was bit chewy but well marinated with balance. Happy with portion and price. Will come back definitely.
We purchased a coupon for this restaurant. My order was a bento with teriyaki salmon. Salmon had good flavor & was generous in proportion. Mediocre accompanying salad with a few soya bean pods with rice which was in a large sticky mound. Miso soup was passable
