Loved the tomyum soup SO much!! Easily one of the best tomyum soups Ive had. Not sure why there were capsicums in our red duck curry but it was delicious anyway! There were 2 of us and we ordered 4 dishes (way too much).
Went here while staying in Cairns on a recommendation from a friend and so glad we did. Service was friendly and quick and food was delicious. Big portions too, my husband and I couldn’t finish (noodle dish, coconut rice and curry) so took the rest away and had for lunch the next day, still just as good. The curries already state a meat, but they were happy to change the pork to chicken for us.
Have yet to be disappointed by Thai Coins. We often get take out from here when cooking is just not an option. The curries are amazing and the service is always great for takeaway. Only giving 4 stars because we have not dined in here and cannot comment on the in restaurant service and ambience.
Value for money!. Visited Thai Coins with 5 friends on 6th. September. It’s a BYO, which makes it even more value for money. The mixed entrees appealed to the peoples’ different preferences; nevertheless, they all got eaten! We ordered a variety of dishes, including the signature ‘Crying Tiger’, and can recommend the pork omelette, pad tai and the battered prawns. It’s a cosy restaurant, and Joel, the owner, is friendly, attentive and welcoming. This restaurant never advertises, as the word of mouth recommendations keep it full – warning – you MUST book if you want to eat there!
Best Thai in Australia. My partner and I dined at this restaurant, while we were in Cairns in July 2013. This was by far the best Thai food we have ever had. We ordered four dishes for two of us and still wanted more (we would try every single dish if we could!) hahaThe owner is such a great man. He welcomed us very warmly and also sat and talked to us for a few minutes, which i thought was really nice.Love love love the food and environment there and would definitely visit it again when we go back to Cairns.
Thai takeaway. Was recommended this restaurant by a local and sure enough it was brilliant. The Thai Green chicken curry was as good as any I’ve had if not better. great service and price.
Came here for a cheap thai meal on a budget holiday, and what we got was a really tasty and filling meal for a really great price. The service was good, and so what the atmosphere, with the food excelling both. The green curry was ordered mild but still had a nice small heat to it, and was really creamy and delicious. The pad thai was really nutty and creamy and, along with the curry, had a good helping of chicken and relevant veg to boot.I’d highly recommend this restaurant as its prices are far below the quality of the food. One of the best value meals we had on our Australian journey.
