Globe Cafe has been revamped following new ownership and this is reflected in the different clientele that frequent the cafe. Of a morning the cafe is generally busy with casual diners enjoying the open air feel of the restaurant. Heavy wood and glass sliding doors and windows roll back and open the cafe up to the street where you have a choice of perching at the bar looking out at passers by or sitting just in front of the window on outside tables. A large entrance is cleverly inviting as your gaze is directed to a long glass cabinet with its array of TA options and cakes.I haven’t tried the coffee yet as I generally pass this cafe following my morning jaunt in a different cafe. I have however sat down for two breakfasts and found that the service was quick, everyone was friendly and every element on the plate was suitably hot and not lukewarm as can sometimes happen when things get frantic during peak hour in a busy cafe! I love a simple breakfast and occasionally still enjoy eating traditional baked beans when I am out- or I like the option of being able to order them. Happy with my selection of veggie sides I was pleasantly surprised at the subtle touch of squeezed lemon juice on my cooked tomato. The overzealous chef, obviously caught up in culinary creativity with little scope for option, added a touch too much salt to my otherwise tasty side of sautéed spinach, accidentally marring simple breakfast perfection.Gold Coast locals like to find a spot and inhabit it loudly with general good humour and casual banter- so this cafe is another noisy space with an albeit genuine and happy ambience. Standard breakfast options with friendly service and your choice of convenient & fresh TA’s; salmon also features on the menu and the cafe is continually adding new touches every time I wander by.Standouts: Service, Care taken in presenting a simple meal, the business card- I felt like I had spent an evening in an exclusive club when I found the business card in my bag the following day.

Loved the coffee! And the service was great! So friendly. The owner spoke to us made us feel welcomed. Compliments to the chef, the haloumi stack was delicious as was homemade sausage roll. Definitely try this place.
