Went to Zab Isan as a last minute choice on a busy Saturday night after discovering Jimmy Wah’s was fully booked. Unfortunately the service was basically non-existent and despite trying to flag down a waitress it took about twenty minutes to finally be able to place our order. The place is a little run down with virtually no ambience, but the food was satisfactory. Portion sizes were quite large and the flavours were there, though they didn’t pack a punch or taste entirely fresh. We definitely would have enjoyed this place more with a bottle of BYO wine on a casual weeknight.

The food was delicious 🙂 Tom Yum soup was flavourful, especially with the coconut rice. We would recommend the spicy salad with beef too – it’s not that spicy.
Lovely staff, I’d say the best Thai I’ve had in Burleigh. I’ve been back 4 times and it has been consistently good service and food each time. Â The outdoor seating can be close to the road like all the places on that strip however you don’t particularly notice as their clear weather blinds have always been down when I’ve dined.
