The Tavern has increased the quality of their food but the prices are simply over the top. The steaks are close to the quality of the Norman Hotel in Brisbane but their prices are much much more. The side salad was dismal in quality. e.g. two very small cut pieces of tomato and lots of lettuce. No olives or special cheeses and a very small, bowel of chips they were lack lustre as though out of old oil. The 2016 prices have gone through the roof. We live 1 km away but will for the $40 per meal spent go to Sizzlers as the steaks are still good and much better value. Reduce your prices Narangba Tavern. My wife and I did not go into the pokies as were shocked at the steak prices.
Found a bug in my Caesar salad.. So disgusting…There is no excuse for that, especially seeing it wasn’t busy at all. Won’t be going back.
Our local tavern was the perfect spot last Friday for a nice ‘pub meal’. Honestly, we didn’t order typical pub grub (apart from the parmi) and it was lovely! Mango chicken & prawns was tasty, the curry was delicious and the parmigiana was big, crunchy and just what we needed.
I love pub food, but this just didn’t hit the spot. The parmigiana was delicious, but the accompanying chips and salad were both lukewarm and old. The salad was dry and undressed. My dining partner’s meal was much the same, with a stringy steak that was charcoaly on the outside and blue on the inside (not ‘medium rare’ as requested). On the upside, the drinks were reasonably priced and the service was friendly and prompt.
