Fantastic food, best pate, and brilliant service.Seafood linguini is delicious. Very nice experience, good Italian wine selections. This a restaurant we keep going back to, never disappointed
We enjoyed our food here, although it is not the best Italian we have had it is definately OK for Cairns. The risotto I had was perfectly cooked as was the pasta. Enjoyed the fact we could sit outside & soak up the that Cairns ambiance we so love
We went to Bellocale on Saturday night. The service and atmosphere were both very good. I loved the decor and the place seemed to be somewhere the locals hang out. There were also a few Italians here which is a good sign for an Italian restaurant. We started with bruschetta which was absolutely delicious with really well-balanced flavours. We all enjoyed it. Next, My partner ordered the risotto. It came out so salty that he sent it back, something we rarely do. however, the second one was spot on – absolutely delicious. I ordered the fish of the day which came with a polenta crumb and plenty of vegetables. The fish itself was not particularly moist or delicious and was merely average. The dish was put together well. My son ordered the kids’ spaghetti meatballs and said it wasn’t the best he’d had but it was okay. The meatballs were quite large which may have been a little off-putting. Overall, the restaurant was good but I wouldn’t rush back.
Not happy. Paid $38 for two seafood cannelloni tubes. couldn’t find the seafood, only cheese. Way too overpriced. Plenty of better value restaurants around.
The portions are way too small for the prices. The main lasagne is a normal sized piece of lasagne on a massive plate with no side salad, nothing. The food is also a little tasteless. Service is good however
Delicious Dinner. Great lively but also intimate atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. I ordered a risotto with pumpkin, pistachios and confit duck which was cooked to perfection and all of the flavours worked well, my friend got the insalata zucca which she said was really good and we shared a semifreddo for dessert. Not a cheap meal but well worth it. Can’t wait to go back!
I loved my meal here so much, I added it to Urbansppon so I could write a review! I lived in Italy for a number of years, so I’m always on the lookout for quality Italian food. In Cairns, I definitely found it. I had the pappardelle bugs which was the most successful merge of cuisine I’ve tasted. Rich Italian roots with just the right amount of Asian flair -hints of ginger, chilli and lemongrass accentuating a simple rosa sauce and topped with a juicy moreton bay bug sauted in brandy. If that description has got you salivating, you probably don’t speak English 🙂 10/10 guys
