The food here is fine….. The somewhat rude Asian staff leave something to be desired but beside the of the chart pricing for Chinese food (seems standard for Cairns)
Yum cha opens at 11am, or so the advertising says… We arrived at 11am excited for yum cha and expecting to be tantalised by trolleys full of treats… Unfortunately there was nothing available apart from some pastries I had seen warming 15 mins prior. The website claimed that there were over 100 dishes available.. The yum cha menu had 48. The vegetarian options on the outside menu and website were said to be unavailable once we took our seats. The staff were nice enough, even offering us vegetarian food from the ala carte menu, which was priced at $29 for a hot pot. They also charge for tea and the refill!! Really unimpressive and disappointing.
Pretty average yum cha, some of the steamed dishes were okay but the rest were not very appetising. Crumbled rice noodles looked like it’s been frozen rather than cooked fresh. We came first thing on a Saturday morning as well.
Salty food and some dishes are not fresh at all. Not up to standard.
Rude and unacommidating for a family with a pram. Refused a table of four + pram because they only had 8 person tables available.
Avoid. Expensive, salty food, rude service. Chicken corn soup was full of grizzle.
Bad experience. As a Chinese, I think the food was salty and bad. The sea food Tofu was not fresh, and the fried duck was too oily. The boss is not a honest man, he thought we came from mainland China, so he recommended us the lobster which was much more expensive than anywhere else in Australia.
