Excellent experience and a journey through various elements and superb mixtures of flavours.The 7 course tasting menu was a perfect choice for dinner and quite filling.
The seven course degustation was a delightful experience. The service was top quality. Did not wine match though – Maybe next time. If you like degustations this is definitely worth a try.
Great food, attentive service and an amazing experience. Had the degustation with matching wines. The restaurant catered for vegetarian and non vegetarian options at degustation.Would highly recommend a visit if you’re in cairns
Unfortunately found the dishes to be hit and miss. The tasting plate entree was great (really enjoyed the tuna and salmon), however my main of Snapper was not good at all. It felt like a glorified salad (it was loaded with what seemed like mixed leaf salad mix) and this sickly sweet lime dressing. Dessert of Cassava Pudding slightly redeemed the experience.
Service as great. Food was amazingly good. Wife had the Barra, daughter had the pork, and I had the duck curry. We started with a tasting plate which start the meal well. Excited us for the rest of the meal. We order the fried rice and wok greens as sides. All plate where great. Price on high side but worth it. Food 9/10Service 9/10Atmosphere 8/10Drinks menu- sorry didn’t look at it but the range of wine looked good
The duck curry was amazing. So full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The gold band snapper was good too, although I wasn’t a big fan of the fish the prawn noodle was certainly different and a pleasant surprise to what I was expecting. We ordered the baklava as desert. The baklava itself wasn’t that great, however the honey mousse was divine! Presentation of the dishes and the service was top notch! Definitely recommend this!
I’ve been going to Tamarind for years! It’s by far the best restaurant in Cairns!The food is always amazing! The Service for a Cairns restaurant is good and that’s saying something! The decor is lovely and it really looks like a classy place that you would be happy to dress up for. I took a friend there from work last Thursday night! I promised her that this would be the best restaurant in Cairns and she went away from the evening agreeing. We had the Pan seared scallops and the Citrus infused Tuna. Both fantastic. For mains we had there two long term favorite dishes the whole crispy baby barramundi and the the amazing Penang duck curry. Yum yum yumOur bill for two entrees two mains two cocktails and a bottle for of wine was just on $200. So many average restaurants in Cairns cost just as much so it’s good value for money. Do your self a favor and make a booking for Tamarind.
