Noticed this bakery the other day over Calamvale way decided to try the salted caramel tartlet. Pastry was ok, filling was just a tad rich for me but not unpleasant by any means. They have a good selection of treats from which to choose at reasonable prices
Overall: Average sweet goodsI tried a selection of their sweet baked goods and was a little disappointed, having heard many good things about this placeCustard Tart: custard was very gelatinous, was bland and lacking the vanilla flavour of a good custard. The pie shell was very sweet and overwhelmed the already bland custard (3/10)Salted caramel tart: not a typical salted caramel taste, was pretty overwhelming and left a weird taste in my mouth, but it was sweet and small (4/10)Vanilla Slice: probably the best thing I ordered, the icing was delicious and the pastry used inbetween the layers was delicious and suited the filling inbetween (7/10)
Wandering around Calamvale Marketplace and felt like to have a pie, so I approached the only one bakery in the shopping centre. Ordered a Steak and Mushroom pie, which made me so disappointed. Pastry of the pie was hard and the trouble was the ingredient, I could hardly see any steak or mushroom but thick gravy with minced meat (maybe there was some finely chopped mushroom). Taste was not great at all. Wish they can improve the production the sooner the better.
