Unfortunately most of the fish is now imported. Salmon and flake is local whilst the sea perch is kiwi – some consolation.20 Oct, 2012Finally a good fish and chip shop in brisbane’s southside suburbs. Best around!. We have been getting our fish & chips there every week, for over 2 years, they are THE BEST, we drive from HIllcrest as it’s well worth the distance. They also make fantastic milkshakes (like the old fashioned way, large & frothy with ice cream…. we can’t resist…YUMOk, time to update….. we’ve now been going to Fish King Cafe for over 5 yrs, yes there has been owner changes, BUT we’ve always found them attentive, very friendly. We eat in, every time, find nothing wrong with the decor, (hey it’s a takeaway after all and prices reflect that!) No complaints ever with service or food. They make a MUCH better Hamburger with the lot, than any of the MacD’s or Hungry’s, chips also tons better. The batter on our Dory is perfect! We challenge anyone to find a better milkshake, made the old fashioned way & big!

Must try!. Quick service, fresh seafood and really reasonable prices. If you’re a fan of fish and chips this is really one of the better fish and chips joints I’ve come across in my lifetime. They make a mean burger too!
Yummm!. Best steak sandwiches you will ever taste! Fish and chips are always cooked to perfection…and one of the very few fish and chip shops that are generous with their delicious chicken salt! If you’re ever in the area, I definitely recommend you take a trip to Fish King Cafe.
