Best three cup chicken I’ve had in Brisbane! The source is really good – a bit too sweet for my partner though – and the portion is quite generous. Definitely would go back 🙂

A very home styled restaurant with home cooked dishes that definitely reach out to you if you’re missing some Chinese food from back home. The three cup chicken was a recommendation from a friend who told us that it was the best dish to try at Jing Star, so definitely had to try it. The chicken pieces were boneless and very flavoursome. The beef with spring onions was a bit overwhelming as you would assume there would be more beef than onions however, it seemed as though the ratio of onions to beef was almost even. The onions were definitely overpowering the beef. The beef was a bit overcooked and was quite chewy. The sweet and sour pork ribs was quite delicious however, could do with a bit more flavour and sauce. The braised tofu was one of my favourites – a good mix of tofu and vegetables and was very delicious. The portion sizes were slightly larger than average so we ended up taking the leftovers home for dinner which were just as delicious reheated! Overall, all the dishes tasted very home cooked, and were not too oily which is always good. The dishes were not too salty but for the most part flavoured very well. A good restaurant to visit for some home cooked food!

On Thursday night when I got home super tired and was not up for any sort of cooking I remembered Ronnielui2003’s review for this restaurant! So up we went for quick easy dinner to rescure our hungry tummyThis place is located in the same complex as oishii sushi and handmade noodle shop on Main street just next to Pineland shopping centre. Sometimes it is hard to find parking as spaces are limited but fortunately I found one lucky last spot when I arrived around 7pm.As soon as we entered the restaurant, noticed this place was more than half full and was buzzing with people. Looked around the restraunt it is simple with lots of menu items on chinese writings on the wall and few in English. Nevertheless, menu handed to us had a English with pictures so no trouble with ordering.Beef roll hand tender beef inside with sweet matching sauce which I really liked. Sour cabbage stir fry was simple yet tasty. And fried fish was cooked well with good seasoning. Last of all, not to forget, milk tea was what I expected will taste like. Overall, nothing fancy but great value and tastes good. I can see why this place is long lasting and supported by many locals.
