Arranged a group gathering at this eatery last night. We ordered Roti Canaiwith curry sauce, Laksa, Hainan Chicken Rice, Butter Herbal Prawn and a dish of Kang Kong with Belachan sauce. Although the Butter Herbal Prawn is not as good as the one that I had at Satay Ria of Cannon Hill. Its version is more suitable for Australian market with peeled king prawn coated with crispy batter. Honestly, the prawn dish earned the whole group’s thumb-up (4.5/5). Again, Hainan Chicken is also not outstanding as compared to other local Malaysian restaurant but the one that they served really deserved 4/5. Roti Canai and Laksa are both above average 4.0/5 while the Kang Kong with Belachan was done perfectly good and tasteful, which was finished within 5 minutes after presented on the table 5/5. Overall, I am glad to see such nice restaurant that serves authentic Malaysian food to locals.Rating 4.5/5Sep 20, 2015 Rating 4/5Drove past this restaurant many times and eventually could try it at today’s lunch. Arrived at 11:30am and the manager told me that Hainan Chicken would not be ready by 11:45am. Thanks for our patience that the chicken rice is worth to wait for, which did not let me down. The Har Mee was so authentic as I felt I was having the noodle at one of the Kopi Den at KL. Roti Canai was another good job. Definitely I would return and recommend it to other foodies.
Ive been here a few times before and I must say its consistently good. Its a bit out of the way but I would say just as good as little Singapore or Malaya corner. Heads up the Tom yum is better than the laksa imo. Flavors are always good in 90% of dishes Ive ordered, not too much msg but still a little bit oily. Perfect for a hangover or a cheap and cheerful. Would recommend, solid 4/5
