Decided to visit based on the reviews, mostly 5 stars. Visited at 5pm so not overly busy. Food came out quite promptly, two servings of Australian barramundi….one battered the other grilled. Nice to see origin of fish on display. One service of Greek salad and a serve of Caesar. The fish was very tender and fresh, however the grilled fish had some type of thin crust, more like dusted in flour and pan fried. As gluten intolerant I didnt think it necessary to request GF on grilled fish. Salads were large considering it was a small serving. Im unsure as to whether the salads are made in-house or not. The Greek salad had a good variety of vegetables but also an unexpected hair!! From previous reviews, we waited for a server to approach us to ask our experience. No one bothered even though we clearly had stopped eating (didnt finish due to the hair incident) but we piled our plates up and waited. No free fruit, possibly a gimmick to get great reviews early on. Fair enough if youre looking for repeat customers. No one expects hair in their food, it makes you think that perhaps the rest of food preparation is lacking. We had decided earlier to buy some dessert to take away but understandably changed our minds.

Best fish and chips Ive had in a very long time. My family from interstate and I were amazed with the quality of seafood; and taste delivered to the table. This is definitely my new go to.

We had one of the best seafood meals at Costas on Friday night. The prawns and oysters were so fresh and were not very expensive. The fish and chips we great. This now is our favourite fish shop. Thanks

Awesome fish and chips. The fresh seafood selection is too good! Just what Capalaba has needed for years! I have found my new local fresh seafood supply.
