Another cafe that appears to take the Coffee Club approach of slapping together poorly prepared items for sake of quick service. Any place that can’t do poached eggs properly really needs to reassess their approach to food.
We got a takeaway soy chai frappe. This was the first time we ordered here. The staff were lovely and prompt but the drink itself was the worst soy chai frappe we’ve had. Not enough liquid too much ice and not enough chai powder. It tasted like watered down chai that got frozen. After 5 sips that was about it, we let it melt a bit(photo) hoping it’d get better. The amount we got for $6.10 was a bit off putting as we usually order from muffin break, they’re about the same price but the drink is almost always overflowing. Just a bad day perhaps? But we won’t be returning.
Noticed this new Carindale Cafe recently popped up to replace a former one (of which I cannot remember the name!) However I did recognize the barista was the same. The coffee was Merlo, so I ordered a double shot to take away. Resulting brew was passable (didn’t look very strong upon removing lid, but was OK taste) after quite a long wait though as they were busy. The sweet cabinet was tempting
