Noticed this bakery after having lunch almost next door. The first thing which caught my eye was the mini apple pies, which were far from being mini. Huge deep dish type of pie with a bright colored pastry shell, looked amazing. Too much for me to handle though after a rather large lunch so opted for a couple of rum balls. They were a tad dry but ok.

What lovely service is the first thing that commands my attention in this cute little bakery (while this place makes me smile, the adult shop makes me blush…)And no, I didn’t go in there if you were wondering. Back to the food, and after casting a wandering eye left, right and centre, I have my own ways of getting naughty, and unfortunately it’s for this sweet reason I’m thankful for the existence of gyms. A giant, submarine sized chocolate eclair (**.5) and caramel slice (**.5) are bought, along with a huge bread roll which was only 80cents per go. The multigrain bread roll, for me, gets a ****/5. Seedy in a good way, soft and crusty enough to enjoy for soups and sandwiches.Trade wasn’t exactly to street queueing levels, my point being that the freshness of the eclair choux pastry wasn’t great. The cream and chocolate, alternatively, was. Caramel slice delighted with its super slinky caramel and choc, but I closed the door on the crumb, lifeless and not exactly fresh. A good value place with some moments of quality, but some issues with freshness. Minimum spend $5 eftpos, just to let you know (info, not criticism)
