Hi, just went to this place to get some takeaway food. Very rude management. I politely asked the person at the counter how long it is going to be and was extremely rude saying we cannot make the food in 20mins. He just went on for the next 5min in a really loud tone. I wish the owners made sure they had trained and courteous staff to interact with customers. I dont think i am going yo this place again.
Takeaway from here today was very disappointing. Butter chicken and Vegetable Korma was lacking flavour and had a very weird taste to it. Good Indian is usually packed full of flavour so not a great experience.
Just got uber eats and ordered the butter chicken and the vege korma. Both inedible I am extremely disappointed and waisted $50. Tasted old, tasteless microwaved slop. Sorry guys, hopefully this is constructive feedback.
Had a Groupon dinner early this month at this Indian restaurant. It located at an eye-catching location. There were not many customers dined in and it looked like that the main income of the business was from take away, particularly, Uber business. The only wait staff was very friendly and passionate. Although we only allowed to order plain naan bread, we preferred to pay extra for our favorite Kashmiri naan, which proved to be he right choice when they came to the table. Besides the naan, we had the Paladums and the vegetarian Samosa for entrees and Butter chicken and the vegetable Vindaloo for mains. In addition, we ordered extra two Mango Lassi, which was the smallest in serving size that I had so far. Indian cuisine is not my forte, I could only judge by my palate. It sounded that the entrees were good but the mains were average and so was the dessert , Mango Kulfi. Spiciness is food was fine but aromatic from herb was weak. Overall experience was average.
The lunch deal sounds good but the serving sizes are very small and the takeaway styrofoam containers dont seal properly so the food goes cold and leaks out. The curries themselves are quite plain with no heat at all. The roti was undercooked and also very oily. I love Indian food but dont plan to return here.
I met up with some friends for an impromptu dinner at Kohinoor Indian Cuisine in Clayfield. We began with Vegetable Samosas, Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Naan, then ordered Aloo Palak Paneer, Lamb Massaman and Chicken Tikka Masala. The Samosas had the appearance of having been cooked earlier and re-fried. The flavour was ok, but the overall rating was 2.5.The highlight of the meal was the Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Naan. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka was tender with good flavour (3.5) and the Naan was delicious (4). My friends enjoyed my pairing of the two.Unfortunately, the Aloo Palak Paneer arrived and it was quickly apparent that there was no Aloo (potato). The staff apologised and tried again, while leaving the Palak Paneer for us to try. The Palak Paneer was quite wet and the flavours were muted, save the random pocket of spice. This rated 2-2.5. The Aloo Palak Paneer was an improvement, but the flavours were still quite bland and the curry was still pretty wet. This rated a 2.5-3.The Lamb Massaman was ok (for a Thai dish being served in an Indian restaurant), but we agreed it was not a dish that would compare favourably if served side-by-side with our favourites. This rated 2.5-3.The Chicken Tikka Masala was on par with a Miss India curry, but not what you would expect from a stand-alone establishment. This rated 2.5.Overall, this dining experience was a bit disappointing. None of the curries were standouts and though we enjoyed the Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Naan, but not enough to return. There are better options in the local area (Karnic’s) and far better options in the city (Punjabi Palace).
Had a coupon deal for this restaurant, however even without a coupon deal they have very good value for money fare here. Our curries which were mixed vegetable & aloo gobi were both made from scratch & served with fluffy basmati rice & a raita cooler in the good old fashioned Dixie tins ( Thali) which one usually expects in India. The curries were quite good, but mine needed more heat, unfortunately there was only green chillies in it, not the fierce red ones which I always desire. The host is a very friendly guy who will go out of his way to try & please individual tastes
