A hidden treasure we had been meaning to try this place as we often drive past being local to the area. So last night my partner and I strolled up to S bar with a bottle of red (they are BYO) and we just cant believe how long it took us to go there! We were greeted with a big smile and personalised customer service. We sat out on the deck and they brought out a little candle for us in a glass jar (a very romantic touch as Friday nights are our date night!) so far they had ticked all the boxes but obviously the next test was the food. After a very short wait, our meals came out and once we had the first bite, we knew we had found our new local! My partner got the steak burger- steak was cooked to perfection, bread roll was so fresh and chips were so golden. I had the chorizo pizza-absolutely delicious and so tasty- both were less then $20 we then finished off with a delightful chocolate Sundae with fairy floss, creamy ice cream, macadamia wafer, chocolate sauce and loaded with chocolate brownie pieces (also only $9.90!!) we walked away with a bill of less then $50 and can honestly say it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. We will be back to try breaky, lunch and their Monthly trivia! Thank you to the owner Jarrod and the chef for a wonderful night!
Perfect Eggs Benedict: a runny, but not too runny egg, coated in a voluptuous Hollandaise, offset by just enough tang from the lemon juice/vinegar to stop it from being cloying. The rest of the garnishes, bread/muffin type thing were all on point too. Service is extremely warm, and friendly, where nothing seems to be a problem to arrange.Will definitely have to try them out for dinner soon; if it’s half as good as their breakfast, we’ll be in for a treat!
These guys are amazing! Welcoming and the food is awesome. Going to try out trivia tonight for something new! We had snitty burger and fettuccine marinara. Sooooo good!
Best burgers in town, hands down. You have to try their steak burger! Awesome coffee and very democratic prices 🙂 Incredibly friendly service. Salads are to die for.
Excellent coffee, delicious food and great service. My wife says the best French toast she has had and acai bowl is sensational. Coffee is as good as anything in Melbourne.
Caught up with Matty and Jared here today. Matt does fantastic food, as is his pedigree ex-Little Larder, New Farm Deli and more recently Wilston General. I met Jared at the General where he wooed my son with the best fruit toast in town and super friendly, personal service. S Bar Cafe’s space is fantastic with both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s child-friendly and they even cater to Mother’s Groups with toddler-safe space and a good kids menu. Adult options suit coffee breaks or lunch/dinner. Food is unpretentious and absolutely delicious. Service is charismatic and personal. Perfect for a mid-week lunch or casual dinner. I wish Jared all the best with this little venture. It’s awesome to have such a great cafe on the Northside. Nice one lads!
Amazing food and great customer service!! Coffee is always perfect! Only gone for breakfast but Every meal we have had there has been perfect. Looking forward to trying their lunch and dinner menu.
