One of the worst experiences of our lives. To start with they had run out of Ribs but most importantly my wife is Coeliac and cannot eat gluten. We asked the waiter what menu items were Gluten Free and after going away to check we were told most things could be made gluten free. We ordered the fish at the counter and asked over and over to three different staff members standing behind the counter and they all guaranteed us it was gluten free. We asked one time when it was brought to our table. We were not 100% convinced and messaged the owner via facebook. We had a 14hr flight straight after dinner and found out later via messenger from Billy’s that it was NOT gluten free. My wife was vomiting and in discomfort for most of the flight. Billy’s claimed responsibility and offered a refund and voucher. After receiving a poor review from another member of our group they have reneged on that offer and have blocked us from the facebook page and very rudely hung up on me when i called to organise the refund. I can’t believe an owner/ manager can act this way. I’m absolutely disgusted and have never been treated that way in my life. They need to train their staff adequately when employing junior staff to work in the food industry. A food intolerance can be very dangerous and I do not recommend Billy’s Backyard BBQ if you are a coeliac.
