BeautifulAttended a wedding and from start to finish everything was amazingCatered to dietary requirements wellCanaps were tasty and well presentedPork belly for entree – wow is all I can sayLamb rack for main – meat was so tender it was like cutting through butterWater and wine topped up frequently and always asked if there was anything else we neededThis is the second wedding I have attended there and honestly I was impressed both timesOnly downfall was the air con above us not working but the doors were soon opened and a lovely breeze cooled us down immensely. All the staff were attentive and friendly Perfect place for a wedding
Came as a guest for a wedding.Lovely gardens and surrounds for a small intimate garden wedding. The reception was for around 35 people, and this place is perfect for small to medium sized celebrations. After the exchanging of vows, staff came round with juice which they topped up. The wait staff seemed young and inexperienced who didn’t seem comfortable mingling amongst the guests to offer a drink, and they kept missing me. I finally received a drink that was very sweet, but acceptable.Canapes were a bit average, with one having like a micro coleslaw on top….bit weird. Hot canapes from the box, sausage roll seemed housemade. The main meal was excellent.Being a wedding, the obligatory alternate dishes of beef and chicken were presented.I had the slow cooked beef cheeks that melted in your mouth. Sitting on mash potato that was lovely and creamy and wedge of baked pumpkin and carrots, garnished with sweet potato lattice chips. The sauce was amazing and would of loved a little more to soak up with the beef. Portion size was big for a function. The chicken dish presented nicely too. Those who had the chicken said it was delicious.Dessert!! Alternate Sticky Date Pudding and Cheesecake. I got the cheesecake! It was ok! I make my own and found it lacked any flavour. It was acceptable. Presentation was very good. The DJ who was supplied by the restaurant had everyone up on the dance floor and was playing classic 80’s, 90’s catchy tunes. The function room was acceptable. The curtains were hanging off there hooks in places, but the original sandstone wall and fireplace gave the room character and warmth.
Worst experience ever. I advise everyone not to go here. The manager was rude and when a complaint was made I was laughed at. They over exaggerated my reaction but as a paying customer paying over A grand for the function, I was within my rights to have a say and give feedback not mocked. I was very upset with the whole experience. Whilst I understand you have to defend your staff, there was no follow up call to ask why I was so upset to a point when I was emotional and frustrated. Very unprofessional and bad customer service- the manager and owners of the restaurant.
The food was incredible, the ambiance was incredible. One of the best experiences of my life. Entree of bugs and prawns served with an amazing salsa and avocado. I would have had a bowl full of the salad it was so incredible. Vanilla bean cheesecake was well sized and delicious, but definately big enough for 2 to share when having 3 courses. The only thing I didn’t like was the chocolate balls filled with salted caramel, tasted a little like toffee, but meal was so great it didn’t detract. This is my favourite restaurant now. 🙂
One of the best restaurants I have been to, the staff, atmosphere and food is impeccable!! I would give 6 stars if I could, It has a friendly charming original 1800’s set up/atmosphere and has been delightfully restored, Can’t fault this place absolutely love it
Reliable quality and great service. Food is good and location beautiful of an afternoon. Only constructive criticism is that the menu hasn’t changed much since we started going (6yrs or so).
Be courted by the courthouse.. Highly reccomend this place for delicious food in a beautiful location for a mid range budget. Recommend booking dinner at 6.30pm and to request a table in the main room in front of the window to enjoy the garden and water views while the sun sets. The old courthouse building has beautiful character inside and out, and has working fireplaces in winter.Garlic bread had a buttery soft centre with a crunchy edge. Barramundi was a hearty combination of crunchy toppings on a good portion of soft, well cooked fillet with al dente veges, baskingin a little pool of creamy sauce. Amazing.Sides of beans, pear/walnut salad were a well cooked and a flavoursome accompaniment.Lamb and salmon were also a delicious, cooked as requested, good portion of meat and veges. The whipped cream on top of the Cappuccino creme brle wasn’t the best, but there was a delicious velvety coffee flavoured cream below its caramel lid.(which may have been a tad thick). Jam doughnuts were very sugary and the dough was a bit tough, but I devoured everything regardless.Choc dome and frangipani cake were artfully presented, decent in size and delicious, as was the Desert selection for one.Service was a little slow considering we were one of a few tables there initially, even later on when only about 8 tables were filled, we waited for each meal maybe 30 minutes. Wine wasn’t ever topped up but water was occasionally, the waiters were young though.Would suggest this place for a wedding, a romantic dinner for two or small group dinner.
