Long time regular customers and qute often with a large family group can’t fault the food or the service.nice venue looking out over the water. but it’s all spoiled when you are sitting there having a nice breakfast and some fool decides they can’t go anywhere without their dog and sits down at the next table. it’s hard to enjoy your food when less than 2m away a great stinking pooch is scracthing, panting and slobering on the table top. makes you wonder if the the same thing was happening at your table just before you sat down. this has happened several times and on one occasion we were lucky that our food hadn’t been served so we cancelled our order got our money back and went to another place. surley there must be health regulations to protect people from these idiots. i don’t think we will be going back they should rename it pet cafe.

Regulars. We are breakfast regulars at this place. I swear it has the best value breakfast in the Redlands. Large servings and very reasonable prices. Coffee is great. Recommend the eggs Benedict.

Took my Mum here for brekkie 28/11/2013. We both enjoyed the location – quiet with a great view of the marina, as well as the staff & food. We had the brekkie omelette & the mushroom, spinach & poached eggs on Turkish bread. It was worth the drive & not overpriced like a lot of cafs around. Will definitely be back!

Nice little place. I like this place. It’s a good spot if you want a nice quiet catch up with your friends. No complaints at all on the coffee, food, or service. There’s nothing particularly amazing abut this place but I still like it. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re at the Cleveland Marina. Good for a nice relaxing meal or coffee. littlemellife.wordpress.com

Decent enough except…. Had lunch at Secret Coffee today and found that the staff were quite friendly and sociable, but the food and prices were okay, nothing spectacular and I did bear witness to a couple of incidents that would make me think twice about returning.Looking over my options for eateries, I had stopped in front of Secret Coffee to have a look when the waitress asked if she could help me with anything. She was quite friendly and talked about the kind of food served and based on her approach, I was drawn into trying this place. As it was 11am I was on the cusp of breakfast ending and lunch beginning, so I took the opportunity to go over both menus. After having spent some time in North America, I find the breakfast prices outrageous and Secret Coffee was no different to what seems to be the standard in Brisbane. Going for the lunch menu I decided on the Chicken Burger ($14.95) which was served on Turkish Bread and came with chips.I ordered up at the counter and it was another woman who rang me through (Cash under $10). She too was very friendly and chipper. Its refreshing to see this as Ive been to so many places where the staff dont seem to care about anything.Taking the number I was assigned, I chose a table and took in the view of the marina. The original waitress I had spoken to in the beginning came up and had a bit of a chat while cleaning the tables. Noticing I had no cutlery or anything else on the table, she asked if Id like some water and. I said yes and she returned with both. What fantastic service! During that time, my order came up and it was a gentleman who brought it out to me. Going back inside the restaurant I overheard him say to the waitress, Too much talking. I was mortified. Firstly, the restaurant wasnt very busy (although I realize this was the calm before the lunch-hour started) and secondly, when staff is this friendly to customers, its almost a sure way to have them return. After hearing this, I felt bad for the waitress and it made me feel quite uncomfortable.Looking at my meal, it was certainly a large portion. I hadnt realized that I was getting a side salad as well, so this was a pleasant bonus! I had to start with a chip, my weakness, and it turned out to be pretty good. Battered in beer and a lot of grease to make it crunchy, the chips themselves where only just thick-cut chips, most likely of the frozen variety, and not so homemade. Sure enough they were alright but it was the garlic aioli that certainly made the difference. The chicken burger had nice fresh toppings of rocket, onion and big, juicy slices of tomato and the chicken was not breaded and had been grilled. Definitely a lean cut of chicken breast, but it was quite thin and Ive had thicker servings in other establishments. The chicken itself was not flavourful, so it was the homemade basil aioli that complimented everything nicely on the toasted Turkish sandwich. The salad consisted of the same fresh rocket, onion and almost quarter size slices of tomato and this time added pieces of cucumber. A generous portion and greatly appreciated except for the sloshing of French salad dressing dumped all over the top. Clearly a store-bought variety, it trickled onto the plate from the unfortunate drenching it had received. Perhaps a little less heavy-handedness might be a good thing. And that was it; after lunch I left. The food was fresh and decent enough but not spectacular. The service was warm and inviting until the waitress was reprimanded within earshot. And the second incident I happened to overhear came from the table beside me. Apparently the couple had been waiting a very long time for their meals and when they went into see what was going on, the waitress came back with the excuse that their order had gone missing. Although very apologetic and sincere, offering up some free desserts, the couple said that was fine and laughed it off that was, until the waitress had gone, then I heard just how upset they were! Big oops and I wasnt going to put this into my review until I had read this has happened more than on one occasion.Overall Secret Coffee is okay, but there definitely seems to be a few things this restaurant needs to work out. Until that time, I may go elsewhere as there are a lot of other choices with the same view in the area.
