Dined here last night, had calamari entree, and chicken parmy for mains. The service was highly attentative but not over the topCalamari was so fresh and generous serving sizeParmy was real chicken breast and also nicely presentedIt seems the manager on duty saturday night was ensuring a great dining experience fir everyoneProbably the best pub food in Brissy
First visit since refurbishment and probably wont be back . Salad wasn’t fresh seated near blinds during a storm and the blinds constantly flapped and banged . Food and drinks sprayed with dirt from falling pot plant . When given the bill we had $32 of someone else drinks. Food very average drinks very expensive. One of our worstoutings to date this year.
Table service was severely lacking. We were not allowed to order drinks from the bar but it then took 20min+ for a waitress to come and take drink orders. I ordered a seafood paella and the bug came out burnt which was then was swapped with a refrigerated bug. The staff didn’t really care at all. It took 47 mins for our food. Very disappointed.
Had lunch in a nice environment. Staff were OK. My famous fish and chips were dreadful. Beer batter on fish fillet had no air, so fish was hugely overlooked and dry. Thick cut chips were soggy. Both salad and tartare sauce had obviously been on the plate for so long, the sauce had a discoloured surface and the undressed leaves were limp. It staggers me to understand how a professional kitchen can deliver such a tragic meal. My partners lunch was no better. She had the bbq seafood. Nice beer though.
Went here for lunch today with friends.. Three burger meals were ordered and one fish tortilla meal. All three burgers came out cold and the fish tortillas were flavourless! I refused to eat my cold burger and left it sitting on the plate. The burgers are obviously cooked in advance and not warmed up when ordered; absolutely disgusting! It’s not hard to serve a freshly cooked burger especially when the place wasn’t anywhere near busy! Money wasted, definitely will not return!
A very pleasant lunch. The pub is large with lovely industrial costal decor. It has a nice atmosphere.Service was good, all table service. We both had the slow cooked pork belly ($26). It was well cooked, though it wasn’t served at a hot enough temperature. I also wrongly assumed it would have fabulous crispy skin (the best part!) but sadly, I was mistaken. Would like to return again.
Came here for lunch the other day and ordered the fish and chips, friend ordered the paella. Both meals were delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly and the batter was crispy, chips looked hand cut but just didn’t have enough seasoning – very minor. Only tried a small amount of the paella but it tasted great. Staff were friendly and service was very quick. Love the new layout of the restaurant now as well.
