Without fail when we are down at the Gold Coast we always come to Messina after a surf. Have seriously tried all the flavors and our favs are Amarreti biscuit with fig jam and Pandan Coconut. Always try all the specials on the board too. Love that they don’t over charge for gelato as well – around $4 one scoop. We also have had a Messina gelato cake once and it was amazingly crafted and delicious beyond words.
I used to frequent the original Messina in Sydney circa 2003 and I have to say I think I preferred it back then when the flavours were simpler. That’s not to say it isn’t yummy, it definitely is. There are lots of flavours and the staff are friendly. But is it worth lining up with 30 other people? not for me.

I’ve come here twice now for this delicious smooth gelato. The first time I tried the baileys special which tasted so much like baileys itself. For this visit I tried the honey honey special which was delicious filled with crispy goey honeycomb pieces.
