Lagoon Restaurant, Port Douglas.#facxual_eventsLast time we were here the resort was looking pretty rundown.Starwood has spared no expense. Newly renovated and looking pretty sharp. This has to be one of the best buffets around – plenty of fresh seafood(amazing Tasmanian Oysters) as well as an array of meats, salads, desserts, lollies and wines. If you want to be spoilt rotten and treated like a Roman Emperor this is the place for you.#DietStartsToday
Went here for dinner with my friends on our holiday. We had buffet seafood and it was pretty good experience. There were quite a lot of choice in terms of foods, we all were so full that night. The oysters had something in it like sand or something and should have been cleared before. Expensive though, but I guess it’s alright for once in a while.
Tonight I ordered the salmon confit, it was below average and more a more appropriate description was steamed salmon. The waitress asked how our meals were, i told her honestly and nothing more was said. When we left I told the manager who was apologetic and took the meal off our bill. Expensive and poor attention to detail.
When I walked into this place it was like I was warped into a buffet from the 80’s in a retirement home! But I didn’t want to judge a book by its cover. Let’s just say the food was very ordinary to say the least and not worth the $60 p/p. We were told it was international buffet night but the only hot food on display was Indian. The seafood was defrosted and not fresh. I had an evening of very expensive bread rolls.
This was very disappointing. The food was average at best. We waited over an hour for our meals, one meal came out after everyone else had finished. Really how long does it take to make a Caesar salad? Service was poor as well.
