Fabulous meal in a glorious setting with cheerful & attentive staff. Had the 7 course degustation with the coral trout substitution – the coral trout was impressive but not sure I’d order it again. The duck dumplings, the Morton bay bug & the mango soufflé were our favourite dishes.
We were able to get a booking for 1945 for 3 people when we called same day in the morning. We arrived early to have some drinks prior to dining. All of our cocktails were quite delicious and the scenery was luscious! We were taken to our table early at 1925. We We ordered the Gado Gado, Pork Belly, Oysters and Potatoes with garlic. The Gado Gado came out and I was dissapointed, nothing like a Gado Gado I’ve ever had, it was literally a plate of garnish with a side of satay sauce. It was nice to eat, but not at all filling, I understand it was an entree however if you had seen the size and at $32) I honestly couldn’t believe it. The pork belly entree was a decent portion and delicious! The garlic potatoes were nice but did not taste any garlic whatsoever. The Mango souffles were very generous and insanely good.Although they claim not to be fine dining and ‘casual’ it definitely does not give that vibe. The portion sizing was hit and miss. The food was nice but I just don’t think justifies the prices.
We had a wonderful experience a must do in Port Douglas – the food was exceptional the service excellent and very professional the surroundings were beautiful. Much better than I expected will definitely go back
A beautiful ambiance , great and quick service. We tried the 5 course menu which was quite sufficient. The duck with tamarind sauce was delicious and memorable. The rest of the menu I’m afraid to say was underwhelming, delicious and well presented but We expected more of this experience. The desert specially was quite a simple one. While service and surroundings were wonderful, maybe they hung their hat on those features, but left the food requiring imagination.Would still recommend this experience to others And enjoyed ourselves.
Had a great dinner with my wife at Nautilus. We started with a cocktail each and shared some oysters for the entree. We shared the signature fish for mains which was fantastic, followed by dessert. The restaurant itself feels as though it is situated in the middle of the rainforest, and on a clear night, as it was when we were there, was a great experience. Will definetly go back before our trip is over
