You know when you’re really excited for something but then your dreams are just crapped on? That happened to me when I ordered Cactus Jack’s jalapeño poppers. I love those things. Who doesn’t? Unfortunately, big CJ has bastardised the classic tex mex entree to the point where they’re almost unrecognisable – dished up looking like spring rolls and without any hint of heat. I reckon it would have been enough to make the little girl off the Old El Paso ads cry. For my main I had a chicken burger that was halfway decent (breast was premium, bun was poor) and some tasty fries, but I was still too sad from the popper debacle to really enjoy it.

Legitimately terrible, if I could give this restaurant a zero I would. Fourty minutes for our entree to come out; jalapeño poppers (which were in spring roll wrappers? I think you guys need to google what jalapeño poppers actually are). One and a half hours later our four meals came out. When the meals did come out the burgers were stone cold, nachos were cold and the enchilada was barely warm. $150 (collectively) for an absolute waste of meals. On top of that once our meals came out staff began packing up the restaurant. If you want to waste your time and money go here.

Great service. Just here for dessert, but had meals here many times. Love the chicken crispers and the sauce. Enjoyed our time and our food. Beautiful chocolate nachos. Cactus Jacks, you’ve never let us down.

Not just good Mexican, the steaks are good too!. This restaurant is hugely popular. The service is very good and the food is even better. Surprisingly for a Mexican restaurant they do very good steaks. The Rio Grande steak is my favorite. At my last visit however I ordered the Aztec Pie and my husband ordered a Chicken Enchilada. Both were very tasty as was the Chilli Dip starter we had earlier.
