It’s a cute and fun fit-out. Staff are friendly, nice atmosphere, great to sit out the front on a lazy weekend afternoon. Unfortunately, the food is sad and overpriced for what it is. My haloumi sliders were woeful: buns were rock hard, dense and dry, with about a teaspoon of bland coleslaw on each. At least the haloumi pieces were good (but how can you get frying up a bit of haloumi wrong?). Overall they were very dry, stale, and just pathetic. I would’ve asked for it to be remade if I felt that the kitchen were capable of doing so, but given how slapdash it was, I very much doubt they would’ve realised that there’s anything wrong. Maybe this is acceptable for Mackay but it sure wouldn’t pass muster anywhere else. At least aesthetically it was nice, but if you want to be the kind of place people visit twice, you need to work on more than just decorations and putting a flag on the food to make it a bit quirky. Start with using fresh ingredients!
