Good service and great location. Food was okay eggs benedict done great – great thicc ham yea boi and my partner enjoyed the big breakfast. However I don’t see anything really unique about this place for breakfast. Nice fire place. Pricey tho worth it bc it’s kinda fancy–no regrets. tasteslikeregret.wordpress.com

Called in while on a Sunday drive. No booking but made to feel welcome. Enjoyed a light meal today, hubby had the soup special. Asian pumpkin and prawn and I had the peppered calamari. Absolutely delightful! Looking forward to going back and sampling other menu delights

Delightful dinner, great service unfortunately had to share my dessert! Just a beautiful place to be with special people. Lemon Myrtle Panna Cotta was to die for.

Our first dinner at Birches restaurant since the restaurant has changed hands. We could not fault it. The food was absolutely beautiful, the service spot on and the host Lynn was so warm and welcoming. We look forward to dining again very soon.

Found Plastic in the Duck meal. My wife ordered the slow roasted Duck meal. While she was eating this meal she discovered a piece of plastic in the meal that actually had gone into her mouth. I was very discreet when bring this to the attention of the restaurant as it was full. The owner came out and explained to us that it was a piece of plastic from one of the containers in the kitchen and that they were even able to match it up to the container. She continued to reassure us that it wasn’t actually cooked in the food but in the containers that they keep all the salad in. At no time did they apologies until we actually said do you think saying sorry might be a good idea. She then tried to tell us that there was nothing wrong with the food and for my wife just to order a new meal. This was our first visit and it will be our last. We had paid for the meal that our son and I ate. (We had no problem with doing this) There was no offer of apologies just excuses that this was a normal practice in all restaurants. My main concern was that we had a young five year old with us and that it could’ve been in his meal. When this was brought to the attention of the owner they didn’t seem to see the seriousness of this. She just kept saying that all restaurants use plastic containers and that was a common thing and that the plastic was not actually in the cooking. She didn’t seem to get the point that it was actually off putting for someone trying to eat the food. This put a real damper on the whole day out and our first time experience at this restaurant that seems to think they are up market. What also didn’t help when walking out I heard her say to the other staff we live in a world where people do this on purpose (So she was accusing us of doing this even though she was able to match it up to the plastic container they had out the back in their kitchen) Very disappointing. No offer at all of a complimentary meal for my wife only a free desert after we had paid and were leaving. (We would not have taken it anyway) I would think that anyone that was really concerned about their customers would have made the offer at the time at the table when that should’ve been apologizing as well and not just making excuses.

Memorable anniversary dinner. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Birches. I was looking for something special and peaceful and was not disappointed. The restaurant is a beautiful romantic setting , and we enjoyed our outdoor table . The staff were attentive and friendly, the. background music adding to the lovely atmosphere I had hoped for. Food superb.Considering the extra costs involved for transportation to a country area, I found it well priced. My meal was certainly ample. We’ll worth the drive , which added to the ambience of the evening.

The location is lovely and the staff are quite friendly however the food is very over priced and lacked in taste. Also there’s no need to sprinkle paprika all over the rim of the plate.. That is so 1990’s and dated. The lunch pasta lacked substance to the sauce making it watery. Very disappointed. The prices rival Brisbane CBD prices (reputable restaurants) but the quality doesn’t reflect the price!!! 2/5 wouldn’t go back.
