Located on the ground floor of the Ecosciences Precinct along the Boggo Road, it may be hard for visitors who are not familiar with the area. When the automatic door opened at the entrance, its logo directly came to my sight. Then the logo of Merlo was the next image that caught by gaze. Ordered the Merlo flat white and a Bacon & Egg Muffin (try to gain back the memory of muffin that I had at the Brickhouse Caf). Although the muffin was not as good as the Brickhouse and the bacon was slightly dried. I still appreciate the soft texture of the muffin bread and overall taste of it. Flat white took a longer time due to lots of take-away from officers upstairs. When the coffee came to the table, it looked practically good without latte art. It was rich with deep layer as well as creamy. I may be lucky that there was no burnt taste at all. Overall impression was good.

We drove right past this cafe a couple of times before we found it hidden behind some large trees near Boggo Rd. I only needed a coffee & noticed it was Merlo so thought it would be pretty safe to order one shot with three quarter milk. On tasting my takeaway on the way back to the car it was on the verge of burnt & not strong enough for me. I offered it to my friend to try who also commented it to be slightly burnt, but strong enough for her though. This cafe isn’t open at the weekend which is a shame as I would have enjoyed trying their breakfast

Located beneath the Ecosciences Precinct Building on Boggs Road (behind the Boggo Road Gaol) is Cafe Eco.Serving up Merlo Coffee and a nice selection of inexpensive pre-made and mate to order offerings, Cafe Eco is a hidden Gem in Woolloongabba/Annerley.The Bacon and Egg on Turkish Bread for $5.90 is loaded with bacon and is quite tasty (4). The coffee and baked goods are both above average (3.5).For those with children, there is a nice playground 50 meters further down Boggo Road.
