We had a lovely afternoon snack. The poffertjes were fluffy, light and delicious. Service was prompt and polite. I am not scoring it higher because the hot chocolate lacked oomph. Worth a visit, with a nice souvenir shop.
Can here last weekend with hubby to sample the food, I got a mixed platter of Dutch bites, for it being mostly fried food I think the price was a bit steep and not really worth it, the meatballs didn’t have much flavour, the sausage was dry but the fried ragout was very delicious! The poffertjes were also very good.
Offering Dutch treats, variants on waffles and pikelets – such as wafels and Poffertjes – as well as freshly baked scones, muffins, wraps, this cafe also has meatballs and sausages that have a South African influence. Seeking afternoon tea, our scone was served with jam and cream and was good value. To add a South African element, we tried the Rooibos (or bush tea) which is a herbal tea or sometimes redbush tea (especially in England). The tea was refreshing and complemented the scone. Chai and other herbal teas are available as is Coffee. A nearby clog shop adds another option to any visit.
Could not get enough!. Went on a Friday for lunch, and I am disappointed I didn’t know about this place years ago! Absolutely amazing food, the service was quick and the staff were so happy helpful and friendly! I will be back again and again! I love it!
