Worth the wait?. Dined here for lunch today with a voucher purchased from Groupon. Included in the deal was a cheese platter, two mains and two beers.Firstly, the cheese platter, which comprised cheeses made on site, was beautiful. The (Misty Mountain) blue cheese and double cream brie were lovely. Then the mains. Firstly, my partner and I waited for 45 minutes after ordering. While there were a number of tables booked, I would hardly say it was overly busy – perhaps 60% of the tables were in use. When the food eventually arrived, the reception was a bit mixed. I had a gnocchi whilst my partner had the Chicken Maryland. My meal was quite good, but my partner’s, not so. Bland, not entirely as per the menu (e.g. it was supposed to come with grilled asparagus, but instead came with steamed green beans) and a little cold.Despite the lengthy delay, the wait staff were great. They were very attentive, courteous and friendly.Would I return? Probably, but I think only to purchase some cheese from the cheese factory. If we had to pay full price for the meals, I think we would’ve been rather disappointed.
Fantastic!. We dined here recently and the service and food was fantastic. Wait staff were friendly and attentive without being interferring. They were well versed in the menu and the specials of the day. The night was unusually quiet, particularly considering it was a Saturday though perhaps a cold one on the mountain had kept people at home. The partner and I entrees of scallops and cuttlefish – all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Mains of duck and snapper followed and we were equally pleased. The bread-and-butter pudding was simply divine.A beautiful restaurant with beautiful food – a true fine dining experience.
