Just a warning, if you make a purchase check what they give you. I bought three cheeses, one of them was incorrect, I had not even sampled the cheese they gave me and it wasn’t good. Two out of the three were past their best before date and when adding the purchases up they overcharged me. I emailed to advise that night and have had no response. You can guess what I think of this place.
Being cheese obsessed, we always visit here on any roadtrip to beautiful Mount Tamborine. Last few times have been underwhelming.Overall the products are mostly good – there’s hard, soft, fresh & aged cheese varieties with interesting & unique flavour combos, all produced onsite. Sadly there wasn’t as much on display today as previously. And disappointingly some of the best stuff was either out of stock (the washed rind) or just isn’t being manufactured ATM (yoghurt & ice cream). We were the only customers & found the service unusual. There was a reluctance to help find other items we might like & a stoic determination to only give samples of the tasting cheeses to Husbandio. (I checked & my deodorant hadn’t failed nor had I developed magical invisibility powers.) Awks. This and the generally unenthused vibe soured the experience.Resorting to nothing but our well-honed cheesey instincts, we decided on the truffle triple cream brie which was okay & a very moreish sweet chilli fromage frais.I really want to love this local business – small batches of high quality cheeses with an admirable regional ethos is totally our jam. But roll the dice & take your chances in terms of stock availability & service these days. Sorry to say I’m not sure we’ll be rushing back next trip.**At the opposite end of the spectrum is the lovely Pattie from Heritage Estate wines who has a small ‘cellar door’ tasting table set up in one corner of the cheese floor. Engaging, knowledgable & passionate about her delicious wares, she was the saving grace of the day. Half a point is purely for her!
A nice spot for some cheese on a Sunday afternoon drive. The truffle cheddar was nearly a perfect combination with out being over powering. The Brie was nice and creamy. But at 130 pm on a Sunday they were out of bread and a number of items weren’t available or on display
