Even though I just had a brekkie with coffee at the Little Pantry of New Farm. On the way back to work, I still found my caffeine level was extremely low so turned my wheel and explored this espresso bar. After I parked my car, first thing came to my sight was all the Merlo signage and couple of table and chair outside the cafe. Walked in the cafe and found the spacious retrospective lay out with very high ceiling. There was only one young lady running the show so I showed my patience and wait for a small size of Merlo coffee. It took less than five minutes then I started to enjoy the coffee. Well, inch better than the one I had half an hour ago. However, I still preferred to have a stronger one so I will remember to have regular size next time because it is 1.5 shots.
Best coffee in East Brisbane. I’ve been going to Wired for years and have watched this place evolve from a counter in the doorway to a very polished Espresso Bar. Don’t go there if you’re looking for breakfast but if you’re after the best coffee in East Brisbane, then it’s the place to be. They have a great selection of muffins, mini-cakes and other light bites if you really need something to go with your coffee. I usually get a muffin and they are the most moist I’ve had anywhere. I don’t know what Foodie is talking about in his review because their coffee is the same price or cheaper than everyone else in the area and the renovations make this a great place to meet people. Free WiFi too!

Great find. Excellent coffee, service and ambience! The eclectic mix of old furniture is interesting and fun, and the outdoor space is also very pleasant.
Could be so much better. The coffee here is very garden variety and way over priced. Wired is not located in the city, so the prices just aren’t reasonable and the muffins are terrible. Also there is no ambiance inside anymore as the ‘co-working’ space is so poorly placed and walled with room dividers. The location has promise, but the owners have totally missed the mark, which is a shame.
