Had the misfortune of wanting Yum Cha in Toowoomba and going here! This is NOT traditional hand made Yum Cha, items on the menu are frozen store bought products (from Sunnybank)then cooked. This restaurant should be ashamed of itself for using the term Yum Cha. Unfortunately people going here will believe this is proper Yum Cha.
The worse Chinese food I have ever had. Ordered Salt and Pepper Squid and Singaporean noodles to take away. the batter of Salt and Pepper Squid was terrible. I cannot taste the salt and pepper, just taste the bad oil. the Singaporean noodles has no taste. they gave chilli sauce on the side but it feels like it has expired. The meal was expensive for a bad quality food. Please don’t go to this place.
Went for yum cha. Other table got prawn crackers etc and we had to ask. Took over 30 minutes for first dish to come out. We had 4 dishes. The last one was chicken satay. After eating one, hubby said that he thought it was raw, he was right, it was very raw. They apologised and asked if we wanted another but we had to leave. We were just so shocked that they had served us raw chicken and all up we had been in there an hour for 3 small dishes and a pot of tea. They didn’t charge us for the chicken, which was good. But generally disappointed with their service and quality.
John. Went out for dinner on Saturday night after having heard good recommendations. Nice venue and large number of people.The waitresses were friendly but did not understand English very well. We ordered Short Soup, Salt & Pepper Squid and Combination Chow Mien and rice. Soup was good, then Sweet & Sour Squid arrived which we accepted and was ok but nothing to rave about.Then the Chow Mien arrived-wow! what absolute rubbish! Was some dark brown mess of thin noodles with a few bits and pieces of meats throughout and absolutely tasteless. Never seen or tasted any Chow Mien like this. We could not even eat 50% of this serve. After complaining, they removed the cost of the Chow Mien from the bill which I still thought was quite expensive.Nothing exquisite-average food -priced over the top
Lunch Today.. Just happened upon this today, had the lunch special of Combination Seafood/ came with a serve of either fried or steamed rice for me & short soup for my daughter, both were delicious. Even came with free nibbles before the food arrived which was quick & HOT, For the price the serving sizes were large, my daughter couldn’t finish her soup it was so filling, full of vegies, dumplings & noodles and the broth was excellent. Also the 2 ladies who attended to us were delightful. Wish we had found this a year ago as Chinese in this town has been a big let down. Who would eat Crap takeaway under the guise of it being cheap. This was no more expensive than an up size of Junk & so much tastier & better for your health. Got the Takeaway menu before we left & will be back. Thankyou for a lovely lunch.
A nice evening. The food and service were good enough to ensure a return visit.
By far the best Chinese rest in Toowoomba.
