overall: 3.4/5gluten free options: 4.5/5food taste: 3/5ambience: 3.5/5 customer service: 3/5pricing vs quality: 3/5ive always heard great things abt charlies so i was keen to check them out. unfortunately theyve apparently changed the sizes of their bowls so its smaller even though its the same price 🙁 a lot of their food is gluten free and dairy free tho which is great. superfood aai bowl: normally when i see superfood i think goji berries, chia seeds, the like etc. but this was just an ordinary aai bowl??? it was just kiwis, bananas, strawberries, and some granola on top of a minimal amount of aai. legit made me sad seeing how small the bowl was. i couldve just went and bought a kilo of strawberries and i wouldve been happier LOL that being said, each element was decent enough that i wasnt too bitter abt it. the fruit was fresh. granola was crunchy altho kinda bland. nothing screamed superfood abt it just your usual aai bowl. strawberry cake didnt really taste like strawberry to me… there was a bliss ball on top but i couldnt even pinpoint the flavour. the base was also very bliss ball-like LOL uhhh… kinda like a bounty but less chocolatey??? i got bored after one mouthful but kept eating it since i paid for it LOL the good thing is that it wasnt super sweet. it had the texture of a cheesecake that was obviously not made from dairy. i didnt like it per se but i didnt hate it either. it did make me wish i had gotten a different cake tho hmmambience wise, they have some board games to play although they looked well loved (read: very used) so i was fine not touching them. its a nice place to hang out with friends and it has an adjacent fruit store. i would be keen to try out their other things… but probs gonna be a no from me on their aai bowl. would probs try their other cakes.customer service was decent. not out of the world. i was kinda put off by the fact that they left their jars of powders for food/drinks out in the open and close to customers so anything could easily land in there including spit, insects etc. but then again, im also a very very strict person when it comes to hygiene etc LOL hopefully just a one time thing hmpricing was in the decent to expensive range. strawberry cake was a mediocre slice for $9… but it was free from many allergens so i guess its an ok price. i have tasted better cakes tho so eh… it looked nice at least. the aai bowl was imo a ripoff considering how small the bowl was and i wouldnt get it again. ill probably try their gelato or fruit cocktails next time (if there is a next time…)
