Mixed feelings. Overall the resort is nice. It’s what you make it, not the experience the staff are providing. We dined in the Billabong restaurant for the seafood buffet and where still eating and the chef came out and took seafood and the cheese platters etc away. It was 8:45pm and it was scheduled to finish at 9pm. However, there was no contact by the staff to ask if we had finished eating or would like anything prior to removal of the food. In fact, we asked them as they walked past if we could have some cheese off the platter as we were nearly finished and the response was, if you want it you can get it yourself off the trolley. She didn’t even take it off the trolley for us to access. The next night we dined in the Japanese restaurant and the food and the asian staff were fantastic. One young lady brought us our hot saki and didn’t speak, smile, make eye contact, just placed it on the table. Disappointing. Also, the resort needs to work on the little things that make a difference, there was no compendiums in the room. No conversations or brochures to advise what was on offer at the resort, such as live bands, special activities, booking requirements for restaurants in advance due to numbers etc. Happy hours, movies and times in open air. Just a total lack of communication in many areas. The staff seem to be just there for a pay cheque not a career and it shows. They are losing so much in profits by not offering beverages whilst dining, coffee at the end of meal, cheese platters, desert etc. I’m glad it’s not my business, they wouldn’t be there. They really need to concentrate on the basics of customer service, then build on that. Disappointed.
