I have been to this small restaurant since high school back to 2008.Top dishes of my list:1. Combination tofu pot- tofu has a crispy shell, but soft inside- fresh and tender meats (such as beef, chicken, Chinese bbq pork, prawn)- the whole pot was based with fresh green veggie. The veggie has sucked in all the good juice from tofu and different meats which sit above it. 2. Sour and spicy soup- A very good appetizer.The soup is very dense (due to starchy flour?).- It has sliced pork, mushroom in it.- As a spicy food lover, I found it is a exciting ride for my tongue to experience the two extreme tastes –> sour and spicy!3. Sweet and sour pork- tasted it during our last week visit- crispy shell (can taste its freshness, just out of the deep-fry oil). Tender meat inside. The source has been made so that the sour/sweet ratio is just right for me, not so aggressive!The missing 0.5 scores comes from the relatively amateur food presentation compare to other shining components of this small restaurant has.It’s better and more authentic than most restaurants in Sunnybank in my view. Pity that I didn’t take any photos this time, but will do next time. 🙂
Special fried rice is awesome. The real reason for my review was for the girl who took my order though. She was extremely polite with a positive attitude. I wish more customer service representatives in the hospitality industry were like this girl. Good work hiring her Top Wok!
I have been going to this mini restaurant for a year, on and off. Friendly service and home-made style food. We really don’t need to compare the local one to those hi-end or Asian suburbs ones, because these locals will always be there when you need them. There is one thing I like the most of this restaurant; the portion is always enough for me, and they put some special veggie into their dishes, such as bamboo shoot, water chestnut…etc. Not a bad choice if you are living or around the neighborhood.
This was one of the worst Chinese I have ever had. We ordered the sweet and sour pork which was overcooked,dry and hard like golf ballsKung Pow Chicken which was tasteless and Mongolian Beef that I could have cooked better with a jar of sauce and there was nothing special about the fried rice.I can understandwriting off one meal out of three butnot all of them.We chose take out which was lucky for the cook as I have never been so disappointed with a meal.Won’t be going back ever. Some places you are willing to give the benefit of the doubt to, but not this one.
I’ve been going to top wok for years now and I know some of the food they cook to perfection and some they don’t but it’s your own personal opinion. I for one love the special fried rice and the lemon chicken but I could go without the spring rolls. All depends on what your used to and this is real Chinese food that most Australians wouldn’t eat regularly growing up.
Worst ever. Bad service and worst food we have ever had. The chicken was so dry it must have been days old , beef and black been was all salt and uneatable. I called to tell them if was not good they laughed at me and said too bad. I will be telling everyone I know to not go here. Don’t waste your money here if you are in the area go elsewhere this is just awful.
