The security guys on duty were forcing everyone to hurry up and finish your drinks were closing. Um, I just purchased my champagne 5 minutes ago. As far as Im aware, you stop serving before you shove everyone out. I was asked by 2 security guards to scull my drink. This is how you show patrons responsible service of alcohol???? How dare they ask me to scull a drink that I just bought and encourage binge drinking! I was in fact on the last drink of the night because I was driving but regardless it shouldnt matter. The staff did not mind that we were still finishing our drinks but the security couldnt wait to get everyone out of there. We were asked every 2 minutes to finish our drinks. For the first time in Brisbane, an establishment has made me feel most unwelcome and I will not be returning.
Great service. Good variety on beer and wine. Food is delish. Beer garden is a nice place to be on a friday afternoon to people watch and have a few
Been here a few times now for lazy weekend afternoon drinks. Terrific relaxed feel, very easy place to while away the afternoon with friends.Staff very friendly and efficient. They have happily helped when trying to choose a drink. Perfect spot for a pre-movie drink & nibbles… 🙂 hesaysshesaysbrisbane.blogspot.com
I live in New Farm, and I always pass by this place on Sunday afternoon thinking this is the place to be at this time of the week, looks always lively. So last Sunday I met a GF there. I ordered a Rose and the lady started to pour the wine from a tap!! I didn’t know you can serve wine from the tap!! Not in james street! Not that price!!! It was also ( not to my surprise ) horrible wine!! Wine from the tap!! Could it get any cheaper!! What’s next ! From the goon straight away!! Very disappointing! I would recommend ppl carry their own drinks!
Sunday afternoon drop in for a drink and some tapas. Head to the bar to order drinks and food. The dips and flatbread were delightful. Can highly recommend the house sparkling-.really good bubbles. The salt and pepper squid was well cooked and hot. The aioli and rocket added a little bite to the dish. Will definitely be back to try more on the menu including some of the larger meals.
Great spot to catch up with friends! Nice location and great atmosphere!!! I’m growing very fond of James street and certainly this is one of the best bars in the area!
I love sixes and sevens for a wine and cheese boards. The location and the ambience makes it a good place to go on the weekend or Friday after work. The burgers are also worth a try.
