I had booked my 21st at Capulet bar as I really like the outdoor garden theme.They only allow exclusive use of the venue all night on Friday nights so i moved everything around and changed my plans to book out the venue. I have people coming from interstate who had booked flights according to the date I chose. Exactly 14 days before the event I received a call saying they had double booked me and could either offer me their other venue (much smaller and shittier) or change my event to the week after but I would only have exclusive use of the venue till 9.30pm. When she called me to tell me she wanted me to make a decision right then and there to either change my date (despite having already sent out all the invitations and made all the plans).Ashley was not very apologetic and did not make time for me to even see the other venue for another 5 days. Although she offered to give me the DJ for free she didnt really seem to care at all! She pretty much said, its unfortunate that this happened but we cant change the other event so either change to the week after or change to the Montague venue. Even before her cancelling my booking they were slow to reply to my email inquiries and kept changing their stance. We can cater to vegan’s… oh wait no we can’t… oh wait yes we can. Sure you can bring your own champagne for the toast… oh wait no you cant.The whole situation just seems as though the other booking would be spending more money and so they just wanted to get rid of me. I asked if i could have to Saturday instead and she said no way they wouldn’t even consider it. Ashley just kept trying to get me to book out the other venue, which when I went and saw it seemed to be used as storage and not really rented out anymore. Now with 8 days to go before my party I have had to choose a much more expensive venue as everywhere else is obviously booked. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER DOING AN EVENT WITH CAPULET BAR! Even when dealing with them I found them to be very unprofessional and frankly did not give a shit about my party. Even when trying to organised payment ect. Long story short – don’t book anything at Capulet!
