Discovered this cafe when I had the brekkie at No. 5 yesterday. Not until I read Dianas review prior to write this review, I did not realize that it has been opened nearly one year. Maybe there are too many office buildings and apartments have been built around the area lately that leads to the opening of so many new cafes in this local market. Well, it is the time to talk back the light brekkie that I had this morning. I felt very comfortable when I walked in the cafe under its coat lay-out. Love the wall paintings that give me the refreshing feeling. When the flat white came to the table, I was shock to have a mug even I ordered a cup. Initially, I was worry about the strength but it turned out to be a nice strong and smooth flat white. Thumb-up! Moreover, maybe I have not had banana bread for a while; the one that I had was full of banana flavour and well prepared warm from light toasted with very tasteful butter. No wonder there are so many locals queuing for the take-away orders. Highly recommended!
Couple of long blacks to start the day, good body and flavour at the right temperature, even from the takeaway cup. Downfall is a rather dark and foreboding entry and interior, and how about a smile? Is it necessary for a barista to appear indifferent and dislike their job to be good at it. Would go back though if I was heading pass that way, although it will be a take away to avoid sitting in the dark.
Have been meaning to try out this place since it opened recently. In the old Post Office building it has a retro feel about it with wall art which was pretty eye catching. Sat down on the comfortable lounge & enjoyed a great flat white. The coffee was smooth with a great flavor which lingered long after the last drop was relished
A coffee shop and small cafe located near the GPO in Fortitude Valley is serving coffee with a conscious. The ham and cheese croissant was exactly what I needed and the coffee hit the spot.
