After being a regular at the El Camino branch in Sydney’s Rocks area for many years this new born baby in Bowen Hills just didn’t cut it for us. Service was sadly lacking, complimentary dips were not replenished & food lacked punch. As for the sangria where was the alcohol ? Resembled a fruit drink.
I was very excited for our Sunday brunch. At this new location. Im a Mexican food fanatic. Our order:Jalapeos poppersMango margaritas Chicken ensaladaTacosPros: quick booking and front staff is very kindYou get colorful free Sombrero. Perfect Instagram moment Our server was super sweet. You could tell she was overwhelmed with the level of business in the restaurant But tried. Margarita- nailed it. It was delicious. I got my buzzTacos- fresh and flavorful Unlimited chips and salsa- pretty much what I filled my stomach with Cons: Normally if there are two people dining you get two poppers per person. To our surprise for $11 we only got TWO poppers. My partner and I had to cut each in half to really get the taste and enjoy them. I was disappointed Ensalada: first time around it felt like the chef emptied a bag of iceberg lettuce threw some corn and diced tomatoes onto my plate. Disheartened I called on the nearest server who went back to the kitchen and the bowl came back with lesser lettuce chicken NO CHEESE NO AVOCADO NO SALSA (the menu glorified the salad I didnt get a quarter of what was written)*I left it at that. I was so hungry I couldnt continue arguing. You get forgotten. I literally had to walk up and get silverware because there wasnt any. I saw the manager come to the table next to us multiple times making sure everything was good. But did he turn around to ask us- NOPE. So overall I was disappointed that I had to get McDonalds on the way home. Service: averageFood: poor serving sizes for the price Quality: flavourful (o my tacos)
Came here for their opening weekend featuring their $2 tacos and 10 cent wings with a purchase of a beverage. It was packed (as expected for opening weekend) with a great vibe. It had a half open area concept. It was a little bit warm especially on a super humid day. Upon being seated they have complimentary corn chips and salsa, great touch. They only had one flavor of wings: hot wings. Cant expect much for 10 cent wings. They were also doing margaritas on special for 1/2 off, hence my friend and I ordered a tower. But after receiving the bill, the waitress told us only the individual glasses were on special (wasnt clearly indicated upon ordering). This restaurant has daily specials which is great, but clarify details before ordering!
