Second birthday dinner at the end of 2019 and we were lucky enough to secure seats at Joy, which had only recently been bestowed two chef’s hats by Good Food Guide 2020. I had long been looking for a good enough excuse to try out the food here and a birthday was the perfect opportunity. Staying up to midnight 3 months ahead of time to book the last 3 seats for the night, it was definitely exclusive.

Absolutely worth the 3 month waiting list. Just 10 diners in a line facing the kitchen. This has been my favourite dining experience of the year. Definitely recommend Joy.

Not sure how this has a 3.6/5 considering all the reviews are 5 star. Anyway, this restaurant is one of the best in Bris, if not _the_ best in Bris. I’ve been to Aria, I’ve been to Cha Cha Chars, I’ve been to Sirromet, I’ve been to a bunch of high-end restaurants, some of them with the reputation of being the best in Brisbane, and none of them are as good as this one. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is incredible, the approach to seating only 10 people and being able to interact with the chefs Tim and Sarah as they cook you delicious meals is unique and incredible, and I wish more restaurants would follow suit.

Great vibe, good technique and unique vision. The chefs are right in front of you and it’s great to see them work and interact with them throughout the course. Also, killer playlist.
